JEDI-Telecom-Paris
Télécom Paris and the Joint European Disruptive Initiative (JEDI), the European advanced research projects agency, have announced that Télécom Paris is becoming a JEDI Partner.

Télécom Paris is an engineering school, founding member of Institut Polytechnique de Paris and a member of the Institut Mines-Télécom, a top-ranked public institution of higher education in the French Grandes Ecoles tradition under the trusteeship of the Ministry for Economy and Finance.

The collaboration between Télécom Paris and JEDI includes the involvement of Télécom Paris researchers and professors in JEDI Moonshots research programs, specifically in the fields of computing (Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Disinformation/Deepfakes, Semiconductors, Quantum). It will leverage Télécom Paris unique research and innovation capabilities within its laboratories and incubators, that are at the service of a sustainable and human-centric society and economy — a mission aligned with JEDI’s focus on solving the major societal challenges of our time through innovation (environment, health, digital, education, oceans, space). Télécom Paris will also benefit from JEDI regular seminars in European capitals with key leaders from science, deeptech, industry and government committed to advanced research and technology.

As a top engineering school, putting interdisciplinary and rigorous research as a priority, we are delighted to become a Partner of JEDI”, said Nicolas Glady, Director General of Télécom Paris. “Télécom Paris has sixteen teaching and research chairs, and spin-offs around three start-ups each month. By supporting but also benefiting from JEDI’s European deeptech ecosystem, the largest of its kind in Europe, we aim at boosting our leadership even more and contributing to Europe’s strategic autonomy in R&D.

André Loesekrug-Pietri, Chairman & Scientific Director of JEDI, added “Télécom Paris’s crossdisciplinary fields, from Cyber-Physical Systems to Data Science & AI, have a lot to gain from the twenty moonshot programs that JEDI is currently working on. We are delighted to have Télécom’s top scientists and researchers participate in our programs and potentially become our Program Managers – the key success factor for any disruptive agency that has the ambition to be as performing as the US DARPA. Together, we are a step further towards European technology leadership”.
