What does this grant involve?

Women TechEU is the European Union’s financial and training support for women entrepreneurs in deeptech. We are honored to be part of a community that empowers women-led deep tech startups across Europe. Being selected for Women TechEU not only provides us with invaluable support and resources but also strengthens our mission to drive impactful change in the tech industry.

Which of your works are being honoured?

The prize is therefore associated with the start-up Mimopt Technology, which develops and markets innovative digital signal processing solutions for fibre-optic communications with the aim of revolutionising the data rates and performance of these systems. Its innovation lies in exploiting all the degrees of freedom of a light signal.

In addition to Ghaya Rekaya, co-founder and CEO, the Mimopt team includes Akram Abouseif (PhD Télécom Paris), co-founder and CTO ; Yves Jaouën (professor at Télécom Paris), co-founder and expert ; Jamal Darweesh (PhD Télécom Paris), research engineer ; Rami Klaimi (PhD IMT Atlantique), R&D engineer.

What prospects does this grant open up for you?

As well as financial support, it’s above all support on subjects that are important for the development of the start-up. And I can say that the training sessions offered are of a very high quality, in addition to the very rich ecosystem. We are excited to leverage this opportunity to scale our solutions, foster collaboration, and contribute to a more diverse and inclusive tech ecosystem. A huge thank to everyone who has supported us on this journey.
