International Admissions – MSc in Engineering

Admission Requirements
To apply for our MSc in Engineering (diplôme d’ingénieur) through a degree or non-degree exchange program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in a science or engineering program at a higher education institution outside of France.
- Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in Science or Engineering at the time of application.
- Have a minimum B1 level in French and/or English (B2 recommended) for scientific courses, validated by an official language test.
Entry Level
- 1st-year entry: You must be in your 3rd year of science or engineering studies abroad and have obtained 180 ECTS credits « by the start of the academic year in September.
- 2nd-year entry: You must be in your 4th year of studies outside France and have obtained 240 ECTS credits « by the start of the academic year in September.

- European, Canadian and American students: Apply by April 15 for the following academic year.
- Non-European students: Apply by September 30 for the following academic year (deadlines may vary by institution, so check with your international office).
- Free Movers, Spring Intake: Apply by April 15 to start the current academic year.

Non-Degree Course (Exchange Program)
There are two application sessions each year:
- Fall Intake: Apply by April 15 for a full academic year or the Fall semester (starting in September).
- Spring Intake: Apply by November 1 for the semester starting in February.
Note for Non-European Students: The application process may vary, so consult your international coordinator for details.
Exchange programs are only available to students from partner institutions.
You can apply for a one-year (12 months) or one-semester (6 months) exchange. For a 6-month stay, we recommend the Fall semester (starting in September) to maximize course options.

Your course selection should align with the year specified in your bilateral agreement.

Double Degree Program
- Pre-selection by your home institution: student nominations are sent to Télécom Paris by your mobility coordinator.
- Interview (if required, 25-30 min) to assess your motivation.
- Final decision on admission.
Only candidates nominated by partner institutions may apply.
Application timeline
- Europe, Canada & USA: Apply during the Spring session. Double degree admission program – spring session
- Other regions: Apply based on your agreement type:
- If your institution has an agreement with at least two IP Paris schools, apply via the Shared double-degree admission program – autumn session
- If your institution has an agreement only with Télécom Paris, apply via the Télécom Paris Double degree admission program – autumn session
Free Movers Studying Abroad at a Higher Education Institution
Application for the Spring session
Apply between February and April 15 via the Free Mover platform.
Selection & Admission Process
- Initial Selection based on academic records.
- Motivation Interview: Evaluates your motivation, career alignment, communication skills (French/English), and adaptability. Mandatory for all eligible candidates.
- Scientific Interview: Not systematic—conducted only if required by the eligibility jury.
All tests can be taken in French or English, at the candidate’s choice. Oral exams are conducted via videoconference.

Non-Degree Courses
- Fall session: Apply to the Simple Exchange Program for one year or for a 6 month-exchange starting in September Simple exchange admission program – Fall session
- Spring session: Apply for a 6 month-exchange starting in February (Spring session). Simple exchange admission program – Spring session.
Required Documents
When applying, you will need:
- Statement of purpose (English or French)
- Learning agreement (for Erasmus programs)
- Resume
- Official transcripts and grading scale from the past three years (in original language + French or English translation)
- Passport or ID copy
- At least two recommendation letters
- French and/or English language certificates
