Partnership with Tohoku University (Japan)

Télécom Paris is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and an exchange agreement with the School of Engineering at Tohoku University, one of the most prestigious institutions in Japan.

Tohoku UniversityFounded in 1907, Tohoku University is recognized as one of the best in the world:

  • 107th globally in the QS 2025 ranking, renowned for its high-quality teaching, employer reputation, and international research network.
  • 3rd in Japan and 120th globally in the Times Higher Education WUR 2025 ranking.
  • 59th worldwide in engineering according to THE WUR 2025, demonstrating its excellence in this field.

A partnership for research and academic excellence

This agreement initiates an ambitious collaboration between Télécom Paris and Tohoku University, with key objectives:

  • Promoting cutting-edge research in strategic fields of information sciences.
  • Encouraging academic and scientific exchanges for faculty and students including research internships.
  • Strengthening students’ intercultural skills, essential for thriving in a global professional context.

Student mobility: a first step

A non-degree exchange agreement complements this MoU. It provides Télécom Paris engineering students and Tohoku University’s master’s students with the opportunity to attend high-level courses at the partner institution.

This international mobility, available for one semester or a full year, will enhance students’ academic journeys and serve as a major asset for their future careers.
