Laurie Ciaramella has just received an ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche, French Research National Agency) grant for young researchers.

Laurie Ciaramella is an Assistant Professor in Economics (Maître de Conférences) at Télécom Paris – Institut Polytechnique de Paris – CREST, France. She is also an Affiliated Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, Germany, and an adjunct Associate Professor at the Norwegian School of Economics – NHH.

Her research focuses on the economics of innovation, with a particular interest in intellectual property, tax and innovation policy, markets for technology, and the financing of innovation.

This JCJC (Jeunes Chercheuses et Jeunes Chercheurs) grant will fund a four-year research program studying the relationship between the location of Intellectual Property assets, R&D efforts, and taxation, and uncovering the economic implications in terms of profit shifting.

« To do so, we will leverage firm-level data from Banque de France and Direction générale des Finances publiques [French Public Finance Department], matched with patent and tax data.

This project will benefit from the expertise and contributions of Marc Bourreau [professor of economics, Télécom Paris], Alice Chiocchetti [PhD candidate, Paris School of Economics], and Bronwyn H. Hall [professor emerita of economics, Berkeley]. »
